Fingerprints
Fingerprints of yesterday engraved within my heart
My children’s smiles remembered with the beauty they impart
A moment marked in crayon lines that time cannot erase
The sweetness of a toddler’s love is written on their face
Footsteps in the hallway; tiny growing feet
Rushing to their future in a race without retreat
Pudgy hands reaching out to hold my little finger
Bittersweet the memory, how I wish this time could linger
Tears on rosy faces as they run into my arms
How I long to protect them from life’s many harms
Little hands grasped in prayer, “Before I lay to sleep…”
I pray silently beside them; they are the Lord’s to keep
Sleeping eyes on angels’ faces; “Lord, can’t they stay this way?”
I walk with faith as they grow, knowing God will bless their days
Easter Ellen
~ writing what won’t leave me alone until it is expressed
Easter Ellen writes poetry, prose, fables, reflections, devotional pieces, and three-degree-sideways observations on life. Her work moves through humour, beauty, bite, tenderness, story, and the truth she relentlessly seeks beneath ordinary moments.
She also helps women think clearly, choose intentionally, and move forward with self-trust through content, coaching packages that meet them where they are, and practical tools for building better habits and thinking processes.
