From the Rooftop
I sat on a rooftop and looked down the hills
To the waterfall yonder, where the blue water spills
I opened my heart to the song of a bird
So sweet, so refreshing, one I’d never heard
I leaned my head to the kiss of the sun
The warm, loving touch left me undone
I inclined my ear to the sound of the waves
A song in my soul that I will ever crave
I listened, for this was a song that was new
The difference in me was the presence of you
Your smile, your laughter, your caring affection
Have turned my life toward a better direction
And so this is a thank you for bringing the light
As I see you by day and dream you at night
I thank you for bringing intentions so pure
May all that we treasure through time still endure
