Little Miss Muffet and the Dark Spider
Little Miss Muffet sat on a tuffet
Eating her curds and whey
When along came a spider
And sat down beside her
And frightened Miss Muffet away
She came back to sit
But instead found a pit
And said, “Where did my curds go?”
The spider slid in with a poisonous pin
And said, “Oh my dear, no, no, no”
He held out a hand and asked her to dance
And together they danced a fun jig
But she stumbled and fell, right straight to hell
And he whispered, “But you knew it was rigged”
This nice little girl with that cute little curl
Right in the middle of her forehead
Cried for the night, but he said, “Don’t take fright
You are alive, and your gardens aren’t dead”
“Oh, my dear, such a friend, to the earth I would bend
To thank you with all of my heart”
“Come this way,” he then smiled, as yet he beguiled
And prepared the jagged glass shard
Oh, this time it hurt deep, and despair came to creep
She was lower than lower could go
“Oh my dear one,” he said, “get up, you’re not dead
But I will get you there one day…
We both know it.”
