At the End of the Wait
She tiptoed ’round the corner
Eyes full of anticipation
Her heart was racing madly
Breath short from expectation
She counted down until this day
The one that would change her life
So splendent in her bridal gown
Today, she’d be born a wife
Her roses were perfect
Hues of pale yellow and white
Her dress quietly dazzling
Like her eyes, fiery and bright
The music at once started
Sweet, dulcet violin tones
With courage, she stepped out
Trembling toward her unknown
Her daddy’s arm calmed her
As he walked by her side
His heart lived in his eyes
His child – now a glowing bride
He took her precious hand
Placed it in her groom’s
Now entwined with her beloved
Now, as if alone in the room
Their eyes locked intently
Promising vows heart to heart
Receiving rivers of blessing
As they made their new start
Her eyes looked to heaven
To thank God with a smile
All that she dreamed of
Faith had carried each mile
